Los Angeles airport on lockdown after passenger runs onto tarmac sparking security alert

A Los Angeles airport was placed on lockdown after a passenger ran onto the tarmac.

Airport police quickly responded and tackled the man. Video footage shows the moment they swarmed one of the airport’s terminals.

The person who shared the video said the police caught the passenger but had to use force.

He said: “I saw someone running out on the tarmac, what is going on out there? Someone was actually running out on the tarmac.

“Can you believe someone was running on the taxiway? Now all of a sudden the police come in and swarm.”

Airline Videos posted the video on X, which used to be called Twitter.

They wrote: “Security alert at LAX during Wednesday night’s Airline Videos Live broadcast: A ticketed male passenger exited a security door at Bradley West Terminals, running onto nearby taxiways.

“Airport Police intervened, resulting in a minor use of force during detainment.”

In the video, you can see a man running near big planes from Singapore Airlines and American Airlines. Then lots of police cars and officers go after him to catch him.

In 2021, a woman was tackled to the ground as she tried to wave down a plane at LAX airport.

The female passenger, who ran out on the tarmac at the airport, was captured on social media as she made the crazy attempt.

The woman repeatedly resisted airport workers as she made multiple attempts to get closer to the plane. The incident reportedly took place at Southwest Airlines Gate.

The witness, who had filmed the incident, said the woman speedily ran past the exit door to stop the plane. A Southwest Airlines employee attempted to stop her – but police eventually had to take her away.
