Loose Women's Jane Moore's five-word reply after Princess Kate's 'mystery' photo backlash

Jane Moore shut down claims that the Princess of Wales’ absence from royal life is some form of “sinister mystery” as the columnist waded in on the Mother’s Day photo editing row.

Princess Kate recently underwent abdominal surgery and is currently recovering. She was photographed on Monday leaving Windsor Castle sitting alongside Prince William in a black car as the Prince of Wales was driven to the Commonwealth service in London.

Her appearance comes after the royal issued an apology after Kensington Palace released a Mother’s Day photo which was claimed to have been digitally manipulated. Kate stated on X, formerly Twitter, that it was her “amateur” editing skills that were to blame for the error with the picture alongside Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The Loose Women panellist, 61, issued a five-word response following the backlash, as she questioned: “Has everyone lost their minds?”

Writing in her latest column for The Sun, Jane slammed those who questioned if Kate’s latest photo was a “Putin-style stand-in,” or “whether she photoshopped her own head” into the family Mother’s Day picture.

She continued: “Is all this nonsense a sign that everyone has lost their minds? Er, yes.

“And now she’s had an abdominal operation which, while the details remain undisclosed, is highly likely to require not only bed rest in the immediate aftermath but time to rebuild her strength too.”

Jane admitted she feels sorry for the “poor woman” having to face “conspiracy theorists online treating her continued and, crucially, planned absence as if it’s some sinister mystery that needs to be solved”.

Kate is taking a break following abdominal surgery and Kensington Palace confirmed she would rest until around Easter.

William has spoken out about the crazy conspiracy theories about his wife, with a spokesperson telling People.com: “His focus is on his work and not on social media.”

Kate was seen for the first time earlier this month when she was pictured in a car with her mother Carole Middleton.

On Monday, the future Queen was pictured sitting in the back seat of the car with the future King while she looked out of the window, whereas William was looking ahead.

It is not known exactly where Kate was heading but it is believed she was attending a “private appointment” which followed a similar route into central London, according to reports.
