London Underground travel chaos as Central Line is down with commuters stuck in capital

The London Underground was plunged into commuter chaos after it was confirmed the Central Line was down on Tuesday evening.

Alongside the severe delays warning, commuters were seen blocking the entrance at Liverpool Lime Street as frustrated travellers attempted to make it home on Tuesday night.

The latest chaos comes as staff on the trains were also striking, including on the Southeastern, Southern/Gatwick Express, Thameslink, South Western Railway and Great Northern lines.

People took to social media to outline their fury, including one who wrote: “I’m just going to say it. I’m sick of the central line. I’m sick of delays and waiting on cold platforms and being stuck underground.

“I’ve been stuck underground for over an hour now. When is the service going to be improved? So much time wasted every day.”
