Loch Ness Monster hunter captures creature shooting off 'like a torpedo' in new sighting

A Loch Ness Monster hunter has captured extraordinary footage of a mysterious creature shooting through the waters of Loch Ness “like a torpedo”.

The jaw-dropping sighting occurred on Monday, leaving ‘Nessie’ hunter Eoin O’Faodhagain and other enthusiasts around the world buzzing with excitement.

O’Faodhagain, who regularly monitors Loch Ness via webcam from his home in County Donegal, Ireland, was taken aback by the electrifying pace of the unidentified creature.

He said: “Looking across the calm conditions of Loch Ness via webcam, I suddenly captured a strange disturbance about three-quarters of a mile away. Something rose up out of the loch, that initially looked like a large fish jumping, but then it moved like a torpedo, causing a significant wake.”

The Nessie hunter admitted that his heart jumped at the unusual sight, saying: “This is something you don’t see every day.”

Speculation as to whether this could really be the Loch Ness Monster has naturally occurred given the creature’s remarkable speed.

To this, O’Faodhagain said: “It is very unusual, and because it is Loch Ness, you begin to dream and contemplate: is it something else that is causing the disturbance?”

As seen in the footage, the mysterious object moves at a striking speed, ruling most of the other animals that live in Loch Ness.

O’Faodhagain said: “The speed of the object has no comparison to a bird taking off. Seals and otters do not behave like this, and the object moves too straight and direct to be considered an eel – even a giant one.”

The Nessie hunter made the sighting using a webcam maintained by Visit Inverness Loch Ness (VILN) at Shoreland Lodges, near Fort Augustus on the loch’s southern shore.

According to O’Faodhagain, the part of the creature visible above the surface is estimated to be at least six feet long, raising questions about how big it truly is underneath the water.

Offering a possible explanation, O’Faodhagain said: “Feeding would cause a creature to behave in such a manner – feeding for fish, close to the surface of the loch.”

The footage has reignited the age-old debate surrounding the existence of the Loch Ness Monster, with enthusiasts and researchers eager to delve deeper into this latest mysterious sighting.
