Another resident of the city – which was City of Culture 2017 – is Libby Fox, the aunt of British boxing champion Luke Campbell.
She said she has been on holiday globally but always returns to Hull.
She told The Sun: “There are so many worse places to work and live than here in Hull. I just don’t get it.”
Another, Terence Shepherd, 73, celebrated the city’s rich fishing heritage. He argued it has changed a lot but is still a friendly place.
