Liverpool can offer four players in mega swap transfer for Bayern Munich ace Jamal Musiala

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala, and they could be tempted to try and use some of their fringe stars to lure him away from the Bundesliga giants. Jurgen Klopp reshaped his squad significantly over the summer, and his shake-up could continue if the Reds act upon their interest in Musiala, as reported by BILD. Express Sport takes a look at four stars that Liverpool could use as part of a player-plus-cash deal…

Joel Matip

Joel Matip has slipped down the pecking order at Anfield, with Liverpool’s interest in signing a centre-back indicating that the ex-Schalke star does not have a future at the club. The Cameroonian defender is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, so January is the Reds’ last chance to make use of having the 32-year-old on their books and provide Bayern with their much-desired defensive acquisition.

Thiago Alcantara

Now also in the final 12 months of his contract in Merseyside, Thiago Alcantara is another player that Liverpool may be tempted to use to strike a deal for Musiala. Bayern are keen to sign a midfielder in January, and Thiago’s prior tenure with Bayern and reputation in the Bundesliga could prove very persuasive.

The 32-year-old has struggled with injuries at Liverpool and is yet to feature for the club so far this season, and the flurry of midfielder signings made over the summer may make it tricky for the Spain international to break back into Klopp’s starting XI.

Caoimhin Kelleher

Reports linked Caoimhin Kelleher with a move away from Liverpool over the summer, and the 24-year-old may finally be granted an exit from the club. With Manuel Neuer reaching the twilight of his career, Bayern could be tempted to take a chance on Kelleher and attempt to nurture him into being their new No. 1 in the near future. Klopp has consistently sung the praises of the Republic of Ireland international but has ultimately not been able to offer him enough regular opportunities to justify retaining his services.
