Liverpool came from behind to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon to go top of the Premier League table ahead of Arsenal’s tea-time trip to Villa Park. No team in England’s top-flight have recorded more comeback wins this season than the Reds.
And that is a credit to Liverpool’s mentality. Jurgen Klopp’s men never look down and out in games even when they get off to laboured starts – like they did this afternoon.
Although Liverpool dominated possession throughout the game, the biggest chances in the opening 75 minutes fell to the Eagles. Allison was on hand to save to palm away the home side’s best efforts but he couldn’t keep out Jean-Phillipe Mateta’s spot-kick in the 57th minute.
