Lewiston active shooter: At least 22 dead and 60 injured in Maine with suspect at large


A suspect is at large after two active shooter incidents in the town of Lewiston, Maine, which have left at least 16 people dead and a reported 60 people injured.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the manhunt for the shooter is under way, and they are encouraging all locals to shelter in place until they apprehend the suspect.

“Law enforcement in Androscoggin County are investigating two active shooter events. We are encouraging all businesses to lock down and or close while we investigate. The suspect is still at large,” they wrote in a post on Facebook.

The sheriff’s office has also included a photo of the suspect and are warning people to stay in their homes and lock their doors.

Law enforcement sources, who have been briefed on the shooting, told CNN that 16 people have been killed – with 50 to 60 people injured.
