Lewis Hamilton has already treated himself to a yacht and £535K watches as he turns 39

Lewis Hamilton has now turned 39 years of age but as one of the best-paid athletes on the planet, friends and family will have been struggling to think of present ideas for the legendary seven-time world champion this year. Six-figure watches, luxury yachts and an array of supercars are all part of the Brit’s eye-watering personal collection.

One of Hamilton’s biggest interests is fashion, and there is no better way to express your taste and wealth through fashion than with watches. The 39-year-old’s current collection holds a staggering value of around £535,000 with most of that figure coming from two timepieces.

Hamilton has two Patek Philippe Nautilus watches – one in black, one in blue – with the two timepieces holding market values in the region of £207,100 and £224,400 respectively. The iconic British racer also has three IWC watches worth over £20,000 per unit, with the company’s logo now emblazoned across Mercedes team wear due to a sponsorship arrangement.

The seven-time world champion doesn’t just look stylish at the racetrack though – he travels to and from it in style. Despite selling off his iconic Pagani Zonda, Hamilton still boasts an impressive collection of supercars and sportscars.

In that collection is a £2 million Mercedes-AMG Project One, three Ferraris worth in the region of £5.3m and a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 from 1967, which is a £1.1m replica of the car from ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’. However, the collection’s crown jewel is his ultra-rare, £4m 1966 Shelby Cobra.

While he no longer has his £16.5m Bombardier Challenger 605 jet, Hamilton can relax away from the racetrack on his personal yacht. The boat, made by Sunseeker, cost him £3.1m and stands at over 90 feet in length, meaning the 103-time Grand Prix winner can unwind in style.

This is, of course, when he’s not spending time at one of his stunning properties across the world. The F1 legend has a property portfolio worth in excess of £62m that includes homes in London, Geneva, New York and Colorado, alongside his Monaco residence.

It is an unenviable task to think up a birthday gift for the seven-time world champion, given his seemingly endless wardrobe and awe-inspiring collection of cars and houses, although the greatest gift he will hope for on his 39th birthday will be for his Mercedes crew to produce a challenger worthy of taking the title fight to Max Verstappen in 2024.
