Lando Norris shows true colours with immediate reaction to Lewis Hamilton joining Ferrari

McLaren driver Lando Norris has shared his surprise at the news that Lewis Hamilton will reportedly leave Mercedes in 2025 so that he can join Ferrari. The Brit signed a two-year contract with the Silver Arrows last year but appears to have made the decision to bow out his career elsewhere.

Hamilton has been regularly linked with joining Ferrari over the past 12 months following an underwhelming few seasons with Mercedes that has seen him fail to truly push Max Verstappen for the Drivers’ Championship.

The 39-year-old was reported to have held talks with Ferrari president John Elkann over a potential switch but ultimately Mercedes persuaded Hamilton to extend his stay with the team by another two years.

However, it is growing increasingly unlikely that the seven-time world champion will actually see out his contract with the team as an agreement is in place which will see him join up with Ferrari next year.

The news has sent shockwaves through Formula One, with fans and those within the sport equally stunned by Hamilton’s decision. McLaren’s Norris has shared his surprise with his 2.5million followers on X (formerly known as Twitter) in response to a tweet from Oscar Piastri.

Piastri jokingly tweeted: “Just been for a run. Have I missed anything?”, to which Norris replied with a video of himself making  a surprised face during an interview last season.
