Lady Louise ‘wears mother's clothes all the time’ – fans claim she ‘needs her own look’

When Lady Louise Windsor, 19, went to dinner in Mayfair’s private members’ club Oswald’s on May 5, she wore a dress previously owned by her mother, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, 58. Since then, Louise has consistently worn clothes and accessories previously owned by her mother.

Louise opted to wear her mother’s Mary Katrantzou Lamur Dress to Oswald’s, which Sophie last wore in 2015.

The definition says: “This combo Mary Katrantzou cocktail dress features a short sleeve paisley lace bodice, a multicolour paisley lace waistband detail that subtly bears the designer’s namesake and a midi-length jacquard skirt.”

Some fans were disappointed that Louise did not wear a brand new dress instead of wearing her mother’s clothes from eight years ago.

Instagram user @koerlin1 said: “I’d love to see her step out in something younger… does she always have to wear her mother’s clothes?”

Similarly, @dragenfly75 added: “Yes, this is too old for her in my opinion.”

Then just last week, Louise made two separate appearances where she wore coats and hats that were previously owned by the Duchess of Edinburgh.

On Friday, Lady Louise wore a Hayfield Fedora hat and a Stella McCartney coat – both of which were in Sophie’s possession previously.

The Hayfield Fedora hat with a leather band and a feather brooch is now selling for just £35.

Royal watcher @kate.farrell.771 commented: “Why has this beautiful young lady got to wear so many of her mother’s hand-me-down clothes?”

On Sunday, Louise wore a £325 Me and Em Italian Wool Military Button Blazer in Pale Camel at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, which Sophie only wore for the first time in April 2023.

Royal fan @toniann99 said: “Can someone get her some of her own clothes – she wears her mother’s clothes all the time which don’t fit her – richest people on the planet.”
