King's decision to evict Sussexes looks like his revenge for 'disloyalty to his family'

King Charles has been accused of exacting revenge on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle by evicting them from Frogmore Cottage. The decision was reportedly made soon after the publication of Harry’s memoir Spare, which heavily criticised the Royal Family and made serious allegations against the Firm.

Despite making California their permanent home in 2020, the Sussexes continued to use Frogmore as their base for their trips to the UK.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward told The Mirror of the King’s decision: “The loss of Frogmore Cottage comes as unwelcome news for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“The fact the King’s son Harry is being targeted cannot but help look like a settling of scores for the disloyalty to his family in his explosive memoir Spare.”

She added that Buckingham Palace have “been in discussion” with Harry and Meghan about their need for a home in the UK.

The monarch has also been trying to make savings in order to reflect his new “slimmed-down” approach, especially during the cost of living crisis.

Ms Seward admitted that the King is aware that having “empty properties scattered around” is “not a good look during these hard times”.

It has been claimed that Prince Andrew has been asked to move into Frogmore, after reports he may have to give up living in Royal Lodge due to financial constraints.

Andrew is said to be resistant to the potential move to Frogmore, however Harry and Meghan have reportedly already begun transporting their belongings to Montecito.

The couple have been “stunned” by the news, according to journalist and biographer Omid Scobie.

He wrote for Yahoo! News: “At a time when communication between Harry and his family has reached an all-time low, further details provided to the couple by the institution have been scant.

“The property, they were told, is needed for someone else. It’s news, sources tell me, that has left Harry and Meghan stunned, and at least two members of the Royal Family ‘appalled’.”
