King Charles would “welcome a reconciliation with Harry and Meghan”, a friend of the King and Queen Camilla has claimed.
The revelation comes less than a week after Prince Harry made the trip back to the UK to see his father get crowned on May 6.
Harry’s visit to the UK was brief – the Duke had to jet back to California for his son Prince Archie’s birthday – but the King must have appreciated the effort.
The Duke was spotted grinning with pride as he joined a 2,000-strong congregation in Westminster Abbey for his father’s Coronation.
But the King will always want to reconcile with his son and Meghan, a friend of Charles and Camilla has told The Daily Beast.

The friend said: “The opportunity that was there for Harry to sort this out with the king is gone for now. Of course, Charles would always welcome a reconciliation with Harry and Meghan, he has made that very clear, and his door is always open in that regard.”
They added: “But now the Coronation is done, I think Charles will want to focus on the job of being king, rather than to continue being distracted by Harry and Meghan drama.”
The Sussexes have drifted apart from the family ever since they stepped away from royal duties in 2020 to start a new life in America.
The couple, keen to find their own feet, have pursued a series of media adventures in the US that has seen them break with royal tradition.
The Duke spent around 28 hours in the UK, arriving on Friday evening and leaving for California shortly after the ceremony had concluded to be with son Archie on his fourth birthday.
During the event, he played a background role. He sat in the third row at the Westminster Abbey ceremony.
The seating arrangement meant the Duke of Kent, the Duke of Gloucester and James, Earl of Wessex, son of the king’s brother, the Duke of Edinburgh, were placed on the pew in front of him.
Harry wore a suit rather than a ceremonial robe, and did not appear on Buckingham Palace’s balcony.
During the service, as the congregation paid homage to the king, Harry was seen, along with the other royals around him, speaking the words “God save King Charles. Long live King Charles. May the king live for ever”.
His wife Meghan and their children, Archie and Princess Lilibet, stayed behind in California for Archie’s birthday.
The 38-year-old announced, along with the palace, in April that he would be attending the crowning of his father, the King, and his stepmother, the Queen Consort at the time, at Westminster Abbey.
