King Charles to retire early on eve of the Coronation to ensure he's 'well rested'

King Charles III has set himself the timely curfew as he wants to make sure he is well-rested for the historic ceremony. A royal source had claimed there will be “no partying”, with all royal duties expected to end by 6pm. The King and Camilla, Queen Consort will be crowned on May 6 at Westminster Abbey.

The royal expert told the Telegraph: “There have been some logistical challenges caused by the King.

“He doesn’t want to do anything in the evening [of May 5] in case it tires him out.

“There will be no partying.”

Although no confirmation has been made over the King’s suspected plans, the source described them as “quite sensible”.

On May 6, the official ceremony will be held at Westminster Abbey in London. The approximate number of people expected to attend stands at 2,000.

After the ceremony has taken place, a regal procession will commence and head back to Buckingham Palace.

Aside from adult royals, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are expected to have starring roles in the procession.

The King’s wife, the current Queen Consort, will also be crowned alongside her husband on May 6.

Camilla’s five teenage grandchildren are all expected to attend their grandmother’s big day.

Prince Harry and Meghan have been sent an invite, however, their attendance remains unknown.
