King Charles 'saddened' by 'spiteful' Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after Scobie scandal

King Charles is “utterly saddened” by the latest developments regarding Omid Scobie’s new book Endgame, a source has claimed. Following its release on November 28, Endgame had to be pulled from shelves on the actual publication day in the Netherlands after the Dutch version outed the two members of the Royal Family that allegedly spoke their “concerns” over the skin colour of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle then-unborn son, Prince Archie.

Meghan and Harry are yet to comment, as are Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace, but it has been understood that the Palace is undergoing an investigation into the claims. Express.co.uk has chosen not to name the two royals.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, another source said: “The veiled allegations and leaks have further eroded the trust with the family and the Sussexes all over again.

“Just as it appeared that Harry and Meghan were mending fences with King Charles and trying to put this all behind them.”

Last week, a source also spoke to ET about Prince William’s feelings regarding Mr Scobie’s book.

The source said that William has been left “furious” about the resurfaced scandal and that his relationship with Prince Harry has remained completely fractured.

In relation to a potential reunion between Harry and the royals – in particular, William – the source noted that it appears very unlikely that a reconciliation will happen anytime soon.

The source added that, as well as William, the resurfacing of allegations has infuriated the whole family.

The King’s apparent feelings come just weeks after he reportedly was left “disappointed” over leaked details from a private phone call with Harry.

It was reported that, despite tensions, Harry spoke to the King over the phone on his 75th birthday last month.

Speaking at the time to GB News, royal commentator Rafe Heydel-Mankoo said that the King was “disappointed” with his youngest son.

Mr Heydel-Mankoo added: “He’s trying very much to have the focus on his public life and whilst, of course, as a loving father he’s very happy to have a conversation with his estranged son, he wasn’t the one who was leaking this to them to the press.”

As well as having tensions with the family, the frustrations appeared to have affected beyond.

The Sunday Times have reported that Harry and Meghan, who now reside in the US, won’t be invited to Hugh Grosvenor’s wedding.

As one of the wealthiest men in England, Mr Grosvenor was one of the few friends still on terms with both William and Harry. He is also godfather to Prince George and Prince Archie.
