King Charles is right to ignore Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Christmas speech

King Charles delivered his second Christmas message as monarch this afternoon, where he praised the “selfless army” of volunteers and highlighted the tireless service of many senior working royals.

The Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five, featured on several occassions as the King highlighted some of the work they carried out this year.

Princess Anne and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were also featured, as the King spoke of service and the Christian message behind it.

But two people were notably absent from the speech: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. While some loyal supporters will begrude the King for ignoring the couple, it is quite right that they don’t get a mention.

In the past year the couple have plunged the Royal Family into several PR nightmares, first with the release of their Netflix docu-series, followed by Harry’s memoir and subsequent TV interviews.
