King Charles 'horrified' over Sydney stabbings as he praises public's 'bravery'


King Charles has been left “horrified” by the Bondi bloodbath, commending the public’s “bravery” in the face of such tragedy. The monarch conveyed his “shock” and “horror” after a devastating stabbing attack at a Sydney shopping centre left at least six dead.

Buckingham Palace released a statement where King Charles, along with Queen Camilla, said: “My wife and I were utterly shocked and horrified to hear of the tragic stabbing incident in Bondi.”

The Royal message continued: “Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of those who have been so brutally killed during such a senseless attack.”

He further acknowledged the ongoing situation, adding: “While details of these shocking circumstances are still emerging, our thoughts are also with those who were involved in the response, and we give thanks for the bravery of the first responders and emergency services. Charles R.”

In a show of solidarity, the Prince and Princess of Wales also shared their profound grief over the horrific events at Westfield shopping centre in Bondi Junction.

Posting on their official social media accounts on Saturday afternoon, the Royal couple addressed the harrowing incident, which saw a knife-wielding man claim the lives of six people and leave others, including a baby, critically injured.

The assailant was shot dead by a police officer after a chase into the mall and failing to surrender his weapon. Following the chaos, New South Wales Police declared a critical incident, leading to the shutdown of the shopping centre.

William and Kate have expressed their heartfelt sympathies over the tragic news. They extended their condolences through a moving statement, highlighting the situation’s severity and the courage shown by the responders.

Sharing their sentiments on Kensington Royal’s social handle: “We are shocked and saddened by the terrible events in Sydney earlier today. Our thoughts are with all those affected, including the loved ones of those lost and the heroic emergency responders who risked their own lives to save others. W and C.”
