King Charles 'heartbroken' feud with Harry threatening bond with Archie and Lilibet

“It’s very sad His Majesty doesn’t get to see his son or his grandchildren, but there’s no rush to patch things up.”

Speaking to GB News, the source also claimed Harry’s attacks on the Royal Family have caused the King “great pain.”

Since stepping down from their roles within the institution, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have levelled a series of accusations about the treatment they were allegedly subjected to by senior royals and royal staff.

Prince Harry doubled-down in his memoir, where he repeatedly took aim at the King, Queen Camilla and his brother Prince William.

The insider added: “Has His Majesty made mistakes when it comes to parenting? Yes.

“Would he privately admit he could have done some things better, or at least differently? Of course.

“But while I am sure they still don’t agree on everything all the time, he and the Prince of Wales are firmly united now around a common shared interest, which is to keep the institution in a place where it can serve the nation.

“This was happening anyway as the late Queen got older, but there’s no doubt what happened with Harry brought everything into sharp relief.”

The comments come only a few days after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex issued a statement via a representative refuting claims they had “snubbed” an invite to the King’s upcoming birthday celebrations.

Instead they claimed that they had “no contact” from Buckingham Palace about the celebrations.

However, royal expert Jennie Bond argued the lack of an invite helped Harry avoid an “awkward” reunion with members of the Royal Family he hit out at in recent years.
