King Charles ‘enjoys having time off’ but he doesn’t want to be ‘completely forgotten’

King Charles is known to work all day, every day, and doesn’t stop for lunch. But now that he’s in recovery, he’s obliged to take a break and he may be enjoying the guilt-free time off, says a royal insider.

Tom Quinn, author of Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family, spoke to Daily Express US exclusively, saying, “Being open about his procedure, means the king can take time off without worrying that he will be criticised.”

He adds: “He enjoys having time off and now he has a good reason and one that will mean he can avoid being criticised for not being as busy as perhaps he should be.”

The biographer predicts Charles will stay behind closed doors, for the most part, but he expects “regular bulletins” from the palace, “so he isn’t completely forgotten,” says Quinn.

Charles was very forthcoming about his health issue, an enlarged prostate, that required surgery, and as a result, his “openess” increased awareness in the UK. And, as a benefit of his transparency, it meant the king could “take time off without worrying that he will be criticised,” says Quinn.

“In the past, mocks would never have given any details about medical issues.”
