King Charles has begun outpatient treatment, taking a break from public-facing, and members of the Royal Family have stepped in.
Craig Prescott, professor at Royal Holloway, spoke to CBC News, saying, “You might think of it as a sort of job share.”
Professor Prescott adds: “The formal constitutional stuff — it’s still going to be the King doing it, but his engagements, I presume some of those will be cancelled, rearranged and [for] some, William and other members of the Royal Family will fill in.”

Since Kate is still in recovery, it’s being suggested William’s engagements will be local for the next month or two, says Judith Rowbotham, visiting research professor at the University of Plymouth.
In an interview with CBC News, Prof Rowbotham says of the change-up: ”During this period where Charles is not expected to take on public-facing duties, like the Queen during the COVID-19 pandemic, he may find creative ways of being able to connect with the public through video conferencing.”
