King Charles cut a sombre figure as he arrived at Crathie Kirk this morning to mark the first anniversary of his mother’s death.
He is choosing to mark the day, which also signifies the day he became monarch, privately while his son and heir leads public tributes.
The King was joined by his wife Camilla and a very small number of Balmoral guests as they arrived for private memorial prayers.
