King Charles was spotted “genuinely enjoying himself” at church, his first public outing since his cancer diagnosis, according to a body language expert. Buckingham Palace confirmed the King’s illness on Monday (February 5), and he thanked the public for their support last night.
Body language expert Adrianne Carter told the Daily Star: “King Charles looks like he’s putting his best foot forward and showing the world he’s doing ok. His smile looks more like one of genuine enjoyment rather than a polite social smile.” She added, “All in all, it looks like he’s coping well with his first week of treatment.”
The King’s positive appearance comes just a day after he expressed his gratitude to the public. He wrote: “I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks for the many messages of support and good wishes I have received in recent days. As all those who have been affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement.”

“It is equally heartening to hear how sharing my own diagnosis has helped promote public understanding and shine a light on the work of all those organisations which support cancer patients and their families across the UK and the wider world.”

King Charles expressed his gratitude, saying that sharing his health issues has raised awareness about cancer support groups in the UK and around the world. He also said his respect for their hard work has grown because of what he’s been through himself.
The King is now resting and getting ready for more treatment at his Norfolk estate. Doctors found his condition during an operation for an enlarged prostate at the London Clinic last month, when they noticed another problem.
After thanking everyone, King Charles sent another message to Grenada, where they were celebrating their 75th anniversary. He said sorry for not being able to be there in person.
