Killer's haunting last words before execution for abducting and murdering six-year-old

An evil murderer’s haunting last words before he was executed for crimes against a six-year-old girl have been revealed.

Johnny Johnson was given a lethal injection at a Missouri prison last night, more than two decades after the heinous crimes he committed.

The 45-year-old had been behind bars since 2002 after he was convicted of murdering six-year-old Casey Williamson.

At the time, the killing shocked the nation as it emerged he had beaten the child to death with a rock at an abandoned glass factory in a suburb of St Louis.

And in his final moments, the exact words delivered by Johnson have now been laid bare.

According to The Sun US, Johnson simply said: “God Bless. Sorry to the people and family I hurt.”

The last thoughts of Johnson, who was convicted in 2005 for charges of first-degree murder, armed criminal action, kidnapping, and attempted forcible rape, were collected by corrections officials in the form of a note.

During his despicable attack, Johnson reportedly attempted to sexually abuse the child – but then decided to murder her as she began screaming.

Unearthed accounts show Johnson then washed her blood off himself in a creek.

Medical records show that Johnson suffered with schizophrenia, and claimed the devil was using his death as a means to ending the world.

His execution came just after the US Supreme Court rejected claims from Johnson’s lawyers to delay his death.

In a statement, the representatives said that as a result of his mental illness, Johnson was unable to comprehend the link between his actions 21 years ago, and the punishment he was being handed.

But no agreement was approved as a result.

Led by Justice Sonia Sotomayor, and two other members of the court, the ruling said: “The Court today paves the way to execute a man with documented mental illness before any court meaningfully investigates his competency to be executed.

“There is no moral victory in executing someone who believes Satan is killing him to bring about the end of the world.”

However, police say the family was content with the actions of the court, including Casey’s great-aunt Della Steele.

She said: “He did something horrible. He took a life away from a completely innocent child, and there have to be consequences for that.”
