Meghan Markle has been returning to her Hollywood roots in recent months, most notably joining the celebrity suite at Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour in September where she was seen dancing the night away alongside the singer’s former bandmate Kelly Rowland.
A photo from the evening showed the two dazzling celebrities alongside actress Kerry Washington at the California event.
The Duchess of Sussex donned a flattering black halterneck shirt showcasing her toned arms and left her brunette tresses loose, dancing across her shoulders.
Kelly opted for a far more extravagant look wearing only a leather bodysuit and some chain chokers with a studded makeup design that left stick-on gems sprawled across her forehead.
The former Destiny’s Child member recalled the night as she spoke to Hello at a Waterwipes event yesterday, but seemed to forget one key detail.
The 42-year-old gushed over the Duchess, calling her “warm”, “down to earth” and that just her mere presence was comforting.
Kelly added: “It was my first time meeting her. It was just nice being there with other great women and being able to just simply talk.”
However, this isn’t true as Kelly first met Meghan long before she married Prince Harry and became a household name across the globe.
The Hollywood pair first crossed paths nearly a decade ago, just three years after she first joined Suits, as they both attended New York Fashion Week alongside stylist Joe Zee.
While Kelly may have forgotten the moment, it was a monumental encounter for Meghan at the time as she even took to her now defunct blog The Tig to write about the interaction and shared some snaps with the Motivation singer on her since-deleted Instagram page according to GB News.
However, the September run-in also held a special meaning for the Duchess, even if Kelly didn’t remember they had met before.
In 2016, the rising star revealed that Kerry Washington was her celebrity crush and the actress herself responded to the mention two years later ahead of Meghan’s interview.
Kerry gushed over being given the “amazing” title from a “beautiful and so talented” woman, and welcomed the Suits star “to the club” ahead of her marriage to Prince Harry adding: “I’m so happy for her because marriage rocks.”
