Kate Middleton 'shudders and giggles every time she hears Meghan Markle's name'

Princess Kate spent more time “talking about” Meghan Markle than with her, it is claimed in an explosive new book.

The Princess of Wales “immediately detected a rival” in Meghan Markle, says royal author Omid Scobie, who claims the two women have not spoken since 2019. In his upcoming book, it is claimed Princess Kate “shudders and giggles” every time she hears Meghan’s name.

It was hoped that Kate and the Duchess of Sussex would form a close bond when Prince Harry went public with their relationship in 2016, but it seems their contrasting personalities and outlooks on life meant the two never really got along.

There have been severel instances recounted where the two were allegedly at loggerheads, including a bridesmaids bust-up over dresses in the lead-up to his wedding that reportedly left Meghan in tears, along with a time where Kate allegedly “grimaced” when the Duchess borrowed her lip gloss.

According to a serialisation from French publication Paris Match, a close friend of the couple said: “She [Kate] spent more time talking about Meghan… than with Meghan.” The source says that the two royals have not shared direct contact since 2019, but claims: “Every time she hears about Meghan, Kate shudders and giggles.”

Scobie also told the French magazine that Prince William now considers Harry an estranged brother and an “outsider”, who he says was left “disappointed by Harry’s life choices and galvanized by his newfound passion for the Crown”.

The author releases his book Endgame next week, described as “a penetrating investigation into the current state of the British monarchy” on Amazon. The description continues: “An unpopular king, a power-hungry heir to the throne, a queen willing to go to dangerous lengths to preserve her image, and a prince forced to start a new life after being betrayed by his own family.”

Endgame, which is available from November 28, is subtitled “Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival”. Publisher HarperCollins said the book would “have the world talking”, with Scobie adding the book will detail moments the royals should be “ashamed of”.

The book was supposed to be released in August, but publication was pushed back in order to include moments from King Charles’s Coronation earlier this year.

Many are expecting explosive revelations from the book, with an American publication source adding: “The word is this is going to have bombshell after bombshell. Some are even speculating it may name the person who questioned what colour Archie’s skin would be.

“Everyone knows Omid is the Sussexes’ unofficial mouthpiece, so it’s fair to say there will be a huge deal of interest in this book on both sides of the Atlantic.”

Details published in the book may not help Prince Harry, who has reportedly been open to reconcile with his father, following a phone call between him and King Charles during his 75th birthday celebrations.
