Kate 'heavily' affected by William and Harry's feud as she lost key friend and ally

Kate, the Princess of Wales has been “heavily” affected by the ongoing feud between Prince William and Prince Harry, author Christopher Andersen claimed.

In the earlier years of her marriage, Kate could often be seen sharing the stage with her husband and her brother-in-law at public events as they former they own royal trio.

Despite his criticism of the Royal Family since stepping down, the Duke of Sussex reiterated how special his relationship with Kate was referring to her as the “sister he’d never had and always wanted” in his memoir Spare.

Andersen claimed the rift between Harry and William has had a significant impact on her but she has been trying to keep its effect under wrap.

He said: “When it comes to acting the part of someone who seems totally unfazed by all the drama swirling around her, Kate really delivers the most convincing performance.

“She never lets her guard down the way the other three do. But you know, Kate and Harry always had a special bond, and I believe the rift between the brothers weighs on her more heavily than people realise.”

The royal biographer suggested the Princess of Wales played a pivotal part in ensuring the two brothers put their differences aside following the Queen’s death and appeared together to thank mourners outside of Windsor Palace.

He told Fox News Digital: “Kate certainly had to have talked Prince William into making that appearance with his brother outside Kensington Palace.

“William certainly was in no mood to make nice with Prince Harry, and by all accounts still isn’t. Whenever these four are together, I don’t think we have seen anything but forced smiles on all their faces.”

Royal commentator Shannon Felton Spence said Kate’s relationship with her own siblings had inspired her to seek to reconcile her husband and brother-in-law.

Felton Spence also remarked on how close Kate, William and Harry used to be in the years after the Princess of Wales joined the royal fold.

The commentator suggested the Princess is very aware of the impact the feud is going to have on the Royal Family in the long term, claiming Kate is hoping the two brothers will soon come to an agreement to set their differences aside.

She said: “Kate, William and Harry were very close. Catherine wants to mend the relationship between the brothers.

“Her own family is very close and has a tight-knit unit that includes the spouses and children of each of the Middleton siblings.

“No one enjoys being estranged from people who they care for. Catherine is not on a group chat encouraging everyone to work it out.”

She added: “But in her own way, within her own home and family, she does speak with William and to their staff about a way out of this estrangement.

“Everyone is hurt — all around. But they all know that long-term, this estrangement is not good for anyone.”

Tentative steps towards a royal reconciliation appeared to have been made after Harry agreed to return to the UK for the King’s Coronation next month.

However, Prince William is said to be “still hurt” over Harry’s behaviour since he stepped down from his royal duties in 2020.
