Morano is not the only one to publicly lambast Benzema for his support of Gaza. He was also criticised by former Israel goalkeeper Dudu Aouate, who was left so angry with the France international’s comments that he insulted him in five different languages.
“You are a big son of a b****,” the Israel former footballer said in English, before repeating the same phrase in Hebrew, Spanish, French and Arabic.
Benzema is a proud Muslim and said his recent switch to the Arabian Gulf to play for Al-Ittihad was motivated by his religion: “Because I’m Muslim and this is a Muslim country, and I have always wanted to live here,” he said in June when asked about his wish to move to Saudi Arabia.
“It’s different, it’s different to Europe. I’ve already been to Saudi Arabia and I feel good about it. Most importantly, it’s a Muslim country, it’s beloved and it’s beautiful. It’s where I want to be because it’s important for me to be in a Muslim country, where I feel people (are) already like me.”
