Kamala Harris mocked for 'granny dancing' that is more hip op than hip hop

While Kamala Harris appeared to enjoy busting some grooves to hip hop tunes, her moves were dismissed as “pure cringe” by online critics.

On X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, political commentator Anthony Brian Logan sniped: “Kamala Harris with the granny moves at her 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop party.”

Another X user described her dance as the “Cackle Shuffle” – an apparent reference to the vice president’s distinctive laugh.

Sporting hot pink slacks and a 90s style blouse, the 58-year-old VP was seen getting on down (but not too far down) to the Q-Tip’s 1999 smash hit ‘Vivrant Thing’.

Her repertoire of dance moves included the classic ‘Roll It arm swing and waving one hand in the air, while shimmying from one foot to the other. In one savage putdown, Jayne Berry tweeted: “Her dance moves are on a par with her skill level in dealing with our border crisis.”

Ouch.

It’s not the first time Harris has been lampooned for dancing. Back in 2020 she was given the cutting nickname ‘Kringemala Harris’ for her boogying ‘skills’.

Her latest foray on the dancefloor came while the President is away circumnavigating the globe in five days. But it doesn’t seem like it’s going much better for her boss. A sleepy Joe Biden said he was “going to bed” – minutes after making an incorrect reference to Good Morning Vietnam – during a bizarre press conference in the country’s capital, Hanoi.
