Kai Havertz vindicates Arsenal rejecting mega-money deal after netting first goal

Some Chelsea supporters were pleased to see Havertz not firing for his new team and many would point out after each game that he had not yet scored or assisted. But that can now be put to bed following his first Arsenal goal on Saturday.

Havertz was handed the responsibility to take the second penalty against Bournemouth and duly obliged to make it 3-0 at the Vitality Stadium. Arsenal fans sang his name for several minutes afterwards and again after the match.

Mudryk is yet to have that moment with Chelsea fans where he feels like he belongs. Havertz still has a long way to go to completely win over every Arsenal fan – one penalty isn’t going to do that.

However, Gunners chiefs currently look vindicated to not go the extra mile for Mudryk, who has failed to adapt to Premier League football. Havertz is a different player but, almost £25m cheaper, could prove to be the better buy.
