Joe Biden forced to ask for help from Arlington honor guard after becoming disoriented

Joe Biden appeared disoriented as he repeatedly asked for help from a soldier during the Veterans Day wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

He first asked for assistance from a member of the tomb’s honor guard to place the floral arrangement on a stand right in front of the monument.

Biden stepped back after some initial hesitation and then made the sign of the cross before moving away from the wreath.

However, he then approached the officer again and quickly took several steps away from him – only to U-turn once again and walk back towards the officer.

The military member finally pointed his gloved hand at Vice President Kamala Harris several feet behind, and the US President eventually resumed his spot next to her.

But the moment of confusion, the latest in a series for Biden, has only reignited questions about his state of mind from the opposition.

New Jersey Rep. Jeff Van Drew said: “God help us. We have a president that doesn’t know whether he’s coming or going.”

Rep. Darrell Issa of California told The New York Post: “Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse, it does.”

Donald Trump, Biden’s likely contender in next year’s presidential election, openly mocked the President during a rally in New Hampshire for his multiple mishaps with directions.

Trump said: “We have a guy in the White House who can’t put two sentences together, who couldn’t find his way off this stage.

“And this is the guy we have negotiating with Putin and with President Xi of China.”

After the wreath-laying ceremony, Biden paid tribute to the troops – once again reminiscing about his late son Beau, who served on a one-year deployment of Iraq with the National Guard.

He said: “On this day, I can see my son, standing ramrod straight as I pinned his bars on him the day that he joined the Army National Guard in Delaware. I can still feel the overwhelming pride.”
