Hollywood star Jamie Foxx was taken to hospital for an undisclosed “medical emergency” Tuesday morning, his family have revealed. The actor had been filming for a new film this week when he was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Foxx’s family published a statement on Instagram to announced on Instagram that he was in hospital.
Posted to his daughter Corinne’s account, the statement said he had suffered a “medical complication” but reassured that his fans that he was “on the way to recovery.”
But a source close to the actor described it in more serious terms as a “medical emergency” when speaking with TMZ.
The family’s statement read: “We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday [Tuesday].
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.
“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
Sourced told TMZ that Foxx’s medical condition was serious enough for him to be taken into hospital.
But there few details shared so far about the nature of the problem.
