Israel says its military has mounted an intelligence-led raid into the West Bank overnight killing “a number of terrorists”.
The operation appears to have targeted a camp in the city of Nablus about 50km north of Jerusalem.
In a statement, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) declared: “In a joint IDF and ISA overnight counterterrorism activity in the Balata Camp, an IDF aircraft struck a hideout used by terrorists involved in planning imminent terror attacks against Israeli civilians and military targets.
The Israeli Army announced that the raid had killed a “prominent terrorist” named Muhammad Zahed.
The reports have not been verified.
