Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces preparing for war to retaliate against Israel

Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) are readying themselves for war amidst Israel’s growing aggression against civilians in Palestine.

According to The New Arab, the chief of staff of the anti-ISIS armed forces held an emergency meeting with his fellow commanders to discuss the possibility of waging war against Israel should the country continue its aggression against Palestine.

The PMF has been on maximum alert since Thursday (November 2).

“We are passing through hard and sensitive conditions that the country and the area one hundred per cent depends on our abiding on what we agree on,” the commander said.

The commander’s announcement comes just one day after the PMF announced that they plan to liberate themselves from the military occupation of the United States.

The PMF’s goal, according to their mission statement, is to preserve the sovereignty of the Iraqi state.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah has also announced that they, too, plan to support the PMF in their war against Israel, should things reach that point.

“The Iraqi Islamic resistance decided to liberate Iraq militarily; this matter has been settled, blessed be the Mujahideen. There will be no stopping, no ceasefire, and no retreat,” the commander said.

With this, the Iraq PMF has revealed that they are fighting a war on two fronts: their own homeland, and to aid in the Palestinian resistance against Israel’s invasion.

“Security measures have been taken at some locations, which could be targeted by US forces since they are outside residential areas, as well as other security measures that cannot be disclosed due to their sensitivity and confidentiality,” reported a source close to the PMF.
