Inside Ukraine's tactics which includes using soft toys to 'confuse' Putin's soldiers

A Russian soldier has opened up on Ukraine’s ingenious tactics in the ongoing and brutal battle against Russia.

Writing in the Dva Mayora Telegram channel, he disclosed how Ukrainians employed children’s stuffed animals and drones to sow confusion among their adversaries during and after assaults.

He wrote: “News from the front, Kleshcheevka, south of Artemovsk (Bakhmut). The ‘hohols’ [a derogatory way of referring to Ukrainians] have a new trick, I experienced it for the first time during a mission.”

To begin with, the drones imitate the sound of firearms. This crafty technique convinces opposing soldiers that an imminent attack is nearby, even though this is far from reality, he claimed.

He said: “They drop some kind of charges that mimic small arms fire.

“It looks like there’s the sound of fire all over the place, you get lost thinking it’s a fence, but no, this is pyrotechnics, but very much like the sounds of a machine gun, very much.”

Another strategy has emerged as a head-turner on the battlefront – using toys with the ability to record and play back ambient noises.

Resembling hamsters in appearance, these ingeniously modified toys effectively mimic a range of sounds and voices from their surroundings. The result is heightened confusion in the vicinity of Russian military positions.

This tactical innovation serves a dual purpose: it not only misleads the enemies but also creates an environment of uncertainty, leaving them grappling with the question of genuine presence or cleverly orchestrated deception.

The soldier explained: “I also saw for the first time children’s toys scattered in the woods.

“They are like those hamsters that repeat what you say. They repeat sounds, even footsteps and rustling branches, not to mention commands and conversations, it’s a kind of alarm.”

“As you walk, the Ukrainians are already aware of you and you yourself get lost among the sounds,” he added.
