Inside Royal Family's Christmas Day church service as fans travel from near and far

The Royal Family will once again make their traditional Christmas Day walk to church in Sandringham on Monday. While only a select few can join them inside the magnificent building, you have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the family before they gather for a sermon and hymns.

Arriving shortly before 11 am, the royals make their way to St Mary Magdalene hurch. The earlier you arrive, the better chance you have of seeing them. Norfolk Police recommend arriving in plenty of time to access the public viewing area near the church, with standard security measures in place, including searches upon entry.

Upon their arrival outside the church, the family is expected to be greeted by the Reverend Canon Dr Paul Rhys Williams before ascending the steps to the church. Once settled, the National Anthem will be sung, followed by the first hymn, “O Come, All Ye Faithful.”

It is likely that King Charles and the Queen Consort will be joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, George, Charlotte, and Louis.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not expected to spend the festive period in the UK.

The Princess Royal and her family will also attend the service, along with other members like Zara and Mike Tindall, Edward and Sophie Wessex with Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn, and Princess Beatrice, her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and his son Wolfie.

In a surprise appearance last year, Prince Andrew was seen alongside his youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie, and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

This year, there is speculation that Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, has been invited to join the family, indicating a continued amicable relationship despite their divorce in 1996.

After the church visit and greeting well-wishers, the family is expected to enjoy a traditional lunch of turkey and all the trimmings.

Following the meal, it’s customary for members of the royal family to sit down and watch the Queen’s televised address, which airs at 3 pm on December 25.

While the filming date is unclear, the address is anticipated to include references to ongoing global conflicts.
