Inside Meghan Markle's music favourites from likes of Beyoncé to Katy Perry

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were spotted in the crowd at Katy Perry’s final show at her residency in Las Vegas on Sunday.

The Duchess of Sussex has let people into her music tastes in the past, sharing it to lifestyle blog, The Tig.

The former actress shared a list of indie tracks which she called songs for “positive vibes” to help her readers beat the “daily rigmarole of winter blues”.

Her selection includes a list of artists such as Crystal Fighters and Maggie Rogers who are probably more familiar to festival goers than the royal family.

Meghan listed ‘Dog Years’ by Maggie Rogers, ‘LA Calling’ by Crystal Fighters, ‘Don’t Run’ by Mr Little Jeans, ‘Sunshine (feat. Reggie Watts)’ by Flight Facilities, ‘Dance Apocalyptic’ by Janelle Monáe and ‘Let it Go’ by Dragonette.

The Duchess of Sussex is also a fan of Whitney Houston, with her hit I Wanna Dance With Somebody being her first dance at her 2018 nuptials.

Meghan has been active at concerts this year, having attended not one but two Beyoncé shows over Labor Day Weekend.

The Suits actress was seen watching the show with Beyoncé’s former Destiny’s Child band member Kelly Rowland, and actress Kerry Washington.

Meghan and Harry first met the singer and her husband Jay-Z at the 2019 premiere of The Lion King in London.

The couples appeared to remain close, as Meghan revealed in the Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, that Beyoncé had texted her after she and Harry sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey in the spring of 2021.

Speaking on their Netflix documentary, she said: “Beyoncé just texted. I still can’t believe she knows who I am!

Harry then probed his wife: “Go and call her!”

Meghan replied: “No, it’s okay. She said she wanted me to feel safe and protected. She admires and respects my bravery and vulnerability and thinks I was selected to break generational curses that need to be healed.”

Elton John also performed for Meghan and Harry during their reception hosted by Her Majesty The Queen at St George’s Hall, Windsor Castle.
