'I'm a royal expert and fans must know this one thing before reading new bombshell book'

Royal author Omid Scobie, the unofficial biographer of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has promised that his latest release Endgame will be a scandalous exposé of the truth of the British Royal Family.

His book Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival is due to be published tomorrow and according to Amazon it will be “a penetrating investigation into the current state of the British monarchy”, featuring “an unpopular king, a power-hungry heir to the throne, a queen willing to go to great lengths to preserve her image, and a prince forced to start a new life after being betrayed by his own family”.

However royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams believes Mr Scobie’s account of events is not to be trusted, as he told Express.co.uk: “Omid Scobie, as he undoubtedly intended, has received a lot of publicity linked to his take on the current state of the monarchy, with reports of its contents appearing in many newspapers.

“It would, however, be unwise to place any trust in Scobie’s forecasts. He is best known for having co-authored Finding Freedom, a turgid, pathetically inadequate story of how Harry and Meghan supposedly found freedom by leaving royal life. It was unsourced so the details it contained could not be verified.”

Over a year after its initial publication in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex admitted they had indirectly contributed to Scobie’s first book by allowing aides to pass on information.

Mr Fitzwilliams explains: “Harry and Meghan initially denied collaborating with it [Finding Freedom]. However it was later revealed, during her court case against the Mail on Sunday, that she had authorised a senior aide to brief the authors and that Harry had supported the concealment of their involvement with the book.

“This had long been speculated about, given the nature of its contents. Omid Scobie has been known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes unofficial spokesperson.

“He claims the Sussexes had nothing to do with Endgame and has even denied he was Meghan’s friend. Sources close to the Sussexes have also denied any collaboration with the book.”

The expert concluded: “It is known that Endgame is extremely critical of the monarchy. Few, I suspect, will believe that Scobie has any authority for his dire predictions that the institution is in free fall after the death of Queen Elizabeth.

“He apparently believes that it will disappear or lose relevance in the future. I am certain it will still be fascinating us, when any trace of Scobie, who is clearly a lightweight, has long been forgotten.”

A review of Endgame in the New York Times claimed that many of the so-called “penetrating” revelations will be nothing new to royal fans, with Princess Diana, Prince Harry and even King Charles himself, when he was still Prince of Wales, releasing tell-all biographies and memoirs.
