'I went to the UK's worst McDonald's – I can't believe what I found in my burger'

A woman who went to the UK’s “worst” and “best” rated McDonald’s in the UK was left reeling at what she found in her burger. McDonald’s has thousands of fast food outlets across the country and so it’s only predictable that service across all of them will vary, in some cases perhaps considerably.

One TikToker – who posts from the account @EllieMarieTV – decided to take in on herself to personally experience the difference in standards between the restaurants by going to the “best” and “worst” rated – althouugh it’s not clear on what review platform people.

And what she found totally horrified her – including a hair in her burger.

Although she doesn’t name the precise locations of the restaurants, the worst appears to be in Birmingham according to her YouTube channel.

She said: “The World’s Dirtiest McDonald’s is located in Birmingham, UK. I snuck into the store undercover as a fake employee to find out what makes it so dirty!

“From hair in the food, bugs in the burgers and even finger nails in the fries. I expose what makes the top 3 dirties McDonald’s so unhygienic.”

On TikTok her video has now been viewed 712,000 times. In it she stands outside a Tudor-looking McDonald’s building and talks to the camera about her experience.

She said: “This is like the king’s castle, it’s so fancy in here.

“Sanitiser, very clean.

“But meanwhile at the worst McDonald’s the dining area is pretty disgusting.

“They were working fries with no hairnet in.”

The video then shows her about to chow down on a vegan burger – but not before making sure to take a closer look before doing so.

She says: “Time to inspect it. There’s a hair. That was in my burger.”

Hundreds of people have commented on the clip trying to establish the location of the best and worst rated branches.

Express.co.uk has approached McDonald’s for a comment.

Last month there was horror as a McDonald’s branch closes after a customer brought in live insects to feed pet snake.

The incident took place in McDonald’s in Newhaven’s Drove Retail Park in East Sussex on Friday and saw the restaurant close for several hours.

A spokesman for the chain says it carried out a “thorough clean” after the animal and bugs were brought in, while pest control experts are still monitoring the scene.
