‘I bought an abandoned home only to discover a treasure gifted by Queen Elizabeth’

A new homeowner has been amazed after making an incredible royal discovery while cleaning out a “creepy” abandoned parish.

Deano (@dinomacs) is a home restorer from Canada who bought an abandoned parish in 2022, and has been documenting his journey trying to fix it up and turn it into a livable home.

The house in is poor condition, as Deano showed the building contained massive holes in the wall, rotten floorboards and even discovered a dark “creepy” basement littered with junk.

In one video, Deano asked: “Did I make a mistake?” after touring the house showcasing how much work needed to be done. In the comment section of another video, Deano said he got a “good deal” on the home but admitted his pockets had taken “a hit” during the restoration.

However, Deano has made some interesting yet strange discoveries while clearing out the abandoned house, as he has found two locked up safes tucked away in the attic and basement, but was also shocked when he discovered a unique royal “treasure.”

While clearing out one room, Deano discovered a beautiful glass cabinet displaying a book showcasing what appears to be autographs on each page and a golden pen.

In a video, Deano showed an old piece of yellowing paper the names “Philip” and “Elizabeth” can be seen and is dated July 2 1973. On the second page, the name “Edward” can be seen on a second piece of paper dated June 30 1987.

After reading the names, Deano can be heard saying “Is that Queen Elizabeth?” in disbelief before ending the video, and in the caption he wrote he has found what appeared to be a hidden “treasure.”

It is unknown if the signatures do belong to members of the Royal Family, but according to past royal tour records, both Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip did visit Canada in early July 1973 to meet members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police

Prince Edward also visited Canada in late June 1987 as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

In the video, Deano excitedly said: “We found gold! I can’t believe this has been just left in the bathroom!”

He said in the comments that the golden pen he discovered is authentic and was “from Queen Elizabeth herself!” but it is unknown why the pen was gifted to the previous owners or how Deano was able to confirm the gift.

However, people in Deano’s comment section congratulated him on the discovery, and some users encouraged him to try and sell the pen. One user said: “Oh my God that’s incredible! Get that $.”

Another person said: “That should help with renovations.”

Someone else wrote: “This is a brilliant find!”
