McDonald’s famous Big Mac Sauce can be purchased at Walmart, according to one of the fast food restaurant’s ex-employees.
Mike Haracz, a TikToker and former McDonald’s corporate chef, frequently shares tips on ordering from McDonald’s and even has a recipe posted for homemade Big Mac Sauce.
However, for those with less time on their hands, there is a readily available alternative, according to Haracz.
In a video posted last week which racked up 360,000 views, the foodie discussed how he travelled to several stores comparing nutrition information and ingredients to McDonald’s Big Mac Sauce.
His conclusion: Walmart’s Great Value Secret Sauce was the closest to McDonald’s Big Mac Sauce.
He said: “Look at the ingredients statement. It’s almost identical. There [are] a few things in different orders.
“When you taste it, you’ll notice it’s slightly sweeter. But this is the closest thing you could get from the supermarket that is almost exactly like Big Mac Sauce from McDonald’s.”
Technically, of course, it isn’t actually Big Mac Sauce. However, Haracz swears it is the closest thing you can get at a supermarket.
Both sauces list soybean oil, relish, water, and egg yolks as their first four ingredients.
Both sauces clock in at 140 calories a serving and have very similar fat contents – Big Mac Sauce at 13 grams while Great Value’s Secret Sauce contains 14.
Haracz found it difficult to find Great Value Secret Sauce and warned viewers that they might have trouble finding it as well. TikTok users took to the comment section to back up Haracz’s claim.
One said: “I bought this over the summer. It’s a winner for sure.”
Another wrote: “I knew it. I have used it and it does taste the same.”
