Horror moment XL Bully runs across street and mauls dog walker

Shocking footage captured the moment a man was attacked by an XL-Bully-type dog – and the victim has now confronted its owner.

Tom Bryant, from Harringay, North London, needed hospital treatment for nine puncture wounds to his left arm after the ordeal.

And now – by investigating his own case after feeling failed by the Metropolitan Police – he has confronted the owner who he believes responsible for the dog.

The horrifying video shows Mr Brant walking his three year old shih-tzu Monty before a huge dog, which was off its lead, bound across the road and attacked him “smashing into his stomach, sucking the air from his windpipe” leaving him with blood pouring from his arm.

Writing in the Daily Mirror the showbiz reporter said: “It all started as I read through hundreds of comments on the Mirror’s TikTok video of my CCTV attack.

“One stood out – the woman in question lived in a particular pocket of Islington. After identifying the park closest by, I started trawling through Facebook groups, and found details of another dog attack, by a similar-sounding dog.”

He said that other residents recognised the woman in question and before long he had her name, address and a picture of the dog he says attacked him.

And what’s more – it seemed the same dog had a history of attacking people and leaving them needing hospital treatment.

Mr Bryant spoke to other victims who say they too has reported the case to police.

One called Charlotte said: “It was horrific, I just remember two men having to pull the dog back and my arm pouring with blood.”

He also spoke to a second victim, who was also bitten along with her pet.

Mr Bryant says he then doorstepped the female owner and explained his ordeal.

She replied: “That’s a terrible thing, I am very sorry to hear it, but I can’t help you… I have nothing to say to you.”

Metropolitan Police gave the background of the case to Express.co.uk.

A spokesperson said: “At approximately 18:20hrs on Saturday, September 16 a man was reportedly attacked by a dog as he walked along Wightman Road, N4. The incident was reported to police a short time later and the man arranged his own transport to hospital.

“An investigation is under way and enquiries are ongoing.”

Chief Inspector Jonathan Waterfield, from the local policing team in north London, told Express.co.uk: “This must have been a terrifying experience for the victim and it is clear the service we have provided after the incident has not been good enough.

“The investigation remains open and we will be making contact with the victim to ensure we can progress our enquiries.”

Express.co.uk has approached Islington Council for comment.

Islington council told The Mirror: “This deeply disturbing incident is being investigated by the police. We’re taking legal action in relation to this dog, which we cannot discuss further at this stage.”
