Horror crash kills 27-year-old after 'dangerous pursuit' as police launch murder probe

A horror road crash which killed a 27-year-old has prompted a police murder investigation.

Amy-rose Wilson was identified as the driver of a Vauxhall Vectra who was killed in the two-vehicle collision on the B902 New Carron Road, in Falkirk following a “dangerous pursuit”.

Emergency services rushed to the scene following the crash but Ms Wilson was pronounced dead on-site.

Two others sustained injuries – a 22-year-old male, who was a passenger in her vehicle, and a 39-year-old man driving a black Volkswagen Tiguan.

Police are actively seeking the occupants of a black Mercedes, which reportedly fled the scene.

They say it is “imperative” that they find the people who were inside the vehicle.

Before the collision, the Mercedes C-Class pursued the Vauxhall Vectra onto New Carron road following a confrontation, between the occupants of both cars, on Foundry Street in Falkirk.

There has been an outpouring of tributes on social media after Ms Wilson’s death, including from devastated friends and family.

One user wrote:  “Oh Amy-rose Wilson my heart absolutely breaks for you and your family, such tragic news! I was only speaking to you last week. Sleep tight sweetie xxx.”

Another tribute, reported by Daily Mirror, said: “Not the news you want to hear – one of your long times friends gone so tragically.

“Amy-rose Wilson I’m sorry I’ve not been there for a while, you will be strongly missed but we all know you’re not alone, you’re with tiny now.”

Detective Inspector Hazel Reid said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman at this very difficult time. We have a dedicated team of officers working on this investigation and extensive enquiries are ongoing at this time. It is imperative we trace the occupants of the black Mercedes who fled the scene. We believe this vehicle has pursued the Vauxhall in a dangerous fashion, resulting in a crash with the Volkswagen Tiguan.”

She continued: “Officers are gathering CCTV footage from the surrounding area and door-to-door inquiries are also being carried out. I am keen to speak to anyone with any private CCTV, dashcam or any other footage they think would assist the enquiry.

“We will have a continued police presence in the area and anyone with any concerns can approach these officers. It is vital that we find out more about what has happened as soon as we can and I would urge anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible, no matter how insignificant it might seem.”
