Horror as man, 22, is stabbed to death in broad daylight on London street


A man has died after being stabbed to death on a street in South London as police tape off a major road.

Police confirmed a murder investigation is underway following the serious incident that took place at 4.44pm on Tuesday, October 3.

A Met Police spokesperson told MyLondon: “Police were called at 16:44hrs on Tuesday, 3 October to reports of a stabbing at Coldharbour Lane, Brixton.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service [LAS] attended. At the scene a 22-year-old man was found with a knife injury.

“Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he died at the scene. Work is ongoing to identify and inform his next of kin. At this early stage there has been no arrest.”

An eyewitness has said there were multiple emergency service vehicles at the scene and police tape has been put up across Crossharbour Lane in Brixton.

Crowds of people have lined the street outside the police cordon.

The victim was knifed down on Coldharbour Lane in Brixton outside a row of shops between Valentia Road and Gresham Road just before 5pm on Tuesday (October 3).

Police and paramedics raced to the busy A-road, where they tried to resuscitate him but he sadly died at the scene.

Coldharbour Lane, near Brixton, has been closed in both directions between Moorland Road and Gresham Road since around 5pm.

Police have erected a tent where paramedics were previously seen attempting to resuscitate a person injured in the incident.
