Horrifying moment plane spirals and plunges out of sky before crashing into house

Horrifying footage shows the moment a small plane plunges out of the sky before crashing into a house – killing two of its passengers and seriously injuring a third.

The single-engine plane spirals out of control as it plummets to the ground at about 6:45 pm on Tuesday.

It then slams into a house on North Cedar Street in the town of Newburg which is about 25 miles southwest of Portland, Oregon.

The plane cleaves into two parts upon impact, crashing inside the home and partially in the backyard – killing two on board and seriously injuring a third.

Several people were inside the house at the time but were able to escape unscathed, KGW reported.

Micah Schauer, the 22-year-old Newberg resident who took the video of the plane spiraling downward, said he was leaving his home when he glimpsed what at first looked like a piece of cardboard falling from the sky.

“I didn’t think it was a real plane at all at first,” Schauer said. It wasn’t until about halfway through the 10-second video that the realization dawned on him, he said.

In disbelief, he sent the video to his girlfriend and family.

“I sent a mass text, like, ‘Is that real? Did this happen?’” Schauer said. “They were shocked.”

A spokesperson for the local fire and rescue said that they’d started getting 911 calls around 7pm local time.

Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue found two people dead and a third seriously injured, officials said.

The plane originated from the Hillsboro Flight Academy, Fox 12 reported. The pilot training school is located about 20 miles north of Newburg.

The aircraft crashed through the roof into the bottom of the home, with fuel beginning to leak from the plane, KOIN reports.

The devastating impact left a huge hole in the roof of the home.

The plane was still lodged in the residence about two hours after the crash.

“To the best of our knowledge, there was no one inside the home at the time the plane crashed,” a fire and rescue spokesman said.

“Thankfully, there were no other injuries reported with that crash. I believe everyone was outside the home at the time.”

The plane crash will be investigated by both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
