Horrific moment man is stabbed to death in front of girlfriend in middle of street

The moment an activist and poet was stabbed to death in front of his terrified girlfriend on a New York street has been captured on film.

Ryan Carson was out with his girlfriend when he was brutally knifed near a bus stop in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, after attending a wedding in Long Island on Monday.

Surveillance footage showed the 32-year-old wearing a grey suit, alongside his partner – who was dressed in a sleeveless gown – as they walked around the block and strolled towards the B38 bus stop.

Ahead of them was a man who, in a seemingly random attack, is seen slashing at Carson.

The video was obtained by the New York Post. In it, the community activist steps up to protect his girlfriend as the attacker began to advance on the couple, shouting: “I’ll kill you!”

Despite Carson’s desperate pleas to “chill”, the maniac continued forward, eventually stabbing the man after knocking him to the ground.

As the killer walked away, Carson is seen lying on the ground curled up. The attacker returns moments later, approaching the scared woman, and then spitting on Carson as he lay dying.

An unidentified woman then appears in the video, shouting “don’t hurt him” at the frenzied attacker.

Carson was taken to Kings County Hospital Center but died as a result of a stab wound to the heart.

The incident happened at Lafayette Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard – near Bedford-Nostrand avenues train station, where the couple exited the subway.

So far no arrests have been made but a “Wanted” poster has circulated depicting Carson.

In a statement, NYPIRG described Carson as “a beloved staffer, colleague and friend, and a creative, talented, relentless and upbeat advocate for students and the environment”.

It continued: “His engaging personality, hearty laugh and wide-ranging intelligence were keys to his success in advancing the causes he deeply cared about in his work and personal life.

“Ryan was a consummate team player who would happily undertake the basic ‘blocking and tackling’ tasks necessary to advance and win on an issue, but also shined in the spotlight as a leader, campaign manager and spokesperson.”

Sources close to the deceased told The Post that around 150 people attended a Monday night vigil for Carson close to the subway stop.
