Hecklers shout 'shame on you' as ex-PM David Cameron leaves COVID inquiry

David Cameron was heckled as he left the Covid inquiry after giving evidence.

The former PM received shouts of “shame on you” as he left the hearing in London.

The 56-year-old ex-Conservative Party leader gave evidence for more than two hours regarding his Government’s preparation for a pandemic.

Mr Cameron finished his evidence by saying he was “desperately sorry about the loss of life” during the Covid pandemic.

He told the inquiry: “I’ve tried to be as frank as I can and as open as I can about the things my government did that helped… but I’ve also tried to be frank about the things that were missed”.
