Heartbroken King Charles holds 'undeniable anger' for Harry but 'won't close door' on him

King Charles III holds “undeniable anger” for Prince Harry but “won’t close door” on him, it has been claimed.

Ahead of his 75th birthday on Tuesday, November 14, a new portrait of the King has been released to mark the occasion.

Friends of the monarch have claimed that he is “invigorated” by the challenges he has faced in the past 12 months, and that he won’t be making much of a fuss for his next milestone birthday.

However, a cloud will be over the celebrations due to the current situation with Harry.

According to an article by the Daily Mail, one source claimed that while the King’s relationship with his elder son is now “firmly united”, all that has happened with Prince Harry is sure to have “brought everything into sharp relief”.

Describing the ongoing tensions with his younger son, the source suggests that it is something that still brings the King “great pain”.

In the article penned by royal editor Rebecca English, King Charles has been described as a “man who notoriously hates confrontation”, although he will “never close the door on his younger son”.

Ms English writes: “But sticking to his guns, he has rejected Harry’s demands for an ‘apology’ and put the whole issue to one side for the time being as he concentrates on the business of state.”

Earlier this week, it was reported that Prince Harry had not been invited to attend any of the King’s upcoming birthday celebrations.

A source claimed that Harry had not received an invite, despite claims he has turned it down.

On November 14, the day of the King’s birthday, His Majesty is due to host a celebration at Clarence House.

Many of his close family and friends will be attending, but Harry is not likely to be among them – particularly due to the pair having had “no contact” in recent weeks.

Harry has been at loggerheads with the Royal Family for some time, particularly after making the decision to step down as a senior royal at the start of 2020.

The former senior royal and wife Meghan Markle made various bombshell claims in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, with Harry adding more friction earlier this year with the release of his memoir, Spare.

Known to be protective of his wife Queen Camilla, the King was said to be very upset over the comments that Harry made about his stepmother.

Harry’s no-show at his father’s birthday celebrations also means that the King will not see his two younger grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The King’s last in-person meeting with his grandchildren remains unknown, but it was suggested that he last saw Archie and Lilibet in June 2022 – during the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
