Haunting last video shows Nancy Ng 'waving' from boat before disappearing on yoga holiday

Video has emerged of American tourist Nancy Ng waving from a kayak on the day she disappeared from a yoga retreat in Guatemala.

The 29-year-old, who lives in California, travelled to picturesque Lake Atitlán in the nation’s southwestern highlands on October 14.

But the dream holiday turned into a “living hell” just five days later when Nancy stopped contacting friends and family.

Now, a clip has been broadcast showing the former California State University student cheerfully waving from a kayak hours before she vanished. Her family say she never returned from the excursion.

It has been released alongside an emotional message from her sister pleading for new information from possible witnesses.

Her sister, Nicky NG, told ABC 7 Eyewitness News: “My dad, he … I know this sounds terrible but he keeps his phone next to him at night.

“He’s hoping for a ransom call, you know, something that will prove that Nancy might still be alive and that she’s out there, that she’s waiting for us to find her.”

A GoFundMe set up to help with the search, which is being assisted by the FBI and Guatemalan authorities, Nancy is described as a “caring daughter, loving sister, and supportive friend” with a passion for yoga, hiking and cuddling her cat.

It has set a target of $60,000 (£49,000) and has so far raised $47,000 (£38,000).

Set up on behalf of her family, the page is aiming to raise funds for a helicopter search and rescue team, equipment for volunteer divers, a boat rescue teams and a submarine and sonar equipment.

Nancy works with special-needs children in the Alhambra Unified School District, Southern California.
