Harry’s brutal swipe at William’s hair as brothers face tense exchange at Coronation

Prince Harry made a jibe at Prince William’s receding hairline in his memoir Spare and now the brothers are set to reunite at King Charles’s Coronation on may 6.

The Duke of Sussex will see his brother for the first time since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, when Harry comes back to the UK for his father’s crowning.

But tensions are high between William and Harry following the release of the Duke’s tell-all memoir Spare in January.

In the memoir, Harry took shots at Camilla, the Queen Consort, and claimed William assaulted him before he left the UK.

But in a low blow, Harry also noted how his brother is balding.

In Spare, Harry recalled how he noticed William’s receding hair when he was at Prince Philip’s funeral in 2021.

He said: “I looked at Willy, really looked at him, maybe for the first time since we were boys.

“I took it all in: his familiar scowl, which had always been his default in dealings with me, his alarming baldness, more advanced than my own; his famous resemblance to Mummy, which was fading with time.”

Despite Harry’s comments about William’s hair, he told CBS’ Anderson Cooper that it was not “cutting”.

“I don’t see it as cutting at all,” Harry said. “My brother and I love each other. I love him deeply.”

It comes as royal historian and author Alexander Larman claimed the Duke of Sussex sees his brother as a “greater threat” than Charles.

He told True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat: “There’s a mix of fraternal jealousy, but there’s also a sense that William is posing as a greater threat to ‘brand Sussex’.

“Harry is not somebody who wants to see the monarchy survive in its current form. He’s going in like a sort of kamikaze pilot.”

Meanwhile, at the Coronation, William will be wearing his military uniform, but Harry might not be allowed to represent his decade of service.

Military Historian Dr Peter Johnston suggested to True Royalty TV that Harry probably won’t be donning a military uniform, and instead may have his own tribute to his royal father by wearing his medals.

“I imagine Harry won’t wear uniform [at the coronation],” he said. “Even as a veteran who did two tours in Afghanistan, he won’t wear uniform.

“I imagine he’ll wear his medals but quite where he fits within the procession and where he comes, I think will be probably reasonably similar to where he was at the funeral as well.

“He’ll be a part of it, but not necessarily, a [leading] part of it.”
