Hamas releases first sickening hostage video of abducted 21-year-old with serious injury

Hamas have reportedly released the first horrifying video of an Israeli hostage being held in Gaza.

The worrying footage, which was allegedly sent out by Hamas’ armed wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, shows a young woman speaking directly to the camera in Hebrew.

Mia Shem, 21, was kidnapped on October 7 by Hamas terrorists while attending the Supernova Music Festival in Kibbutz Re’im, where 260 people were tragically killed.

In the video, Shem states her name and age before explaining she is from Shoham, in Israel.

The 21-year-old, who had a visible arm injury bandaged up, then pleads for her release.

The Express has decided not to publish the video, but a spokesman for the family told the BBC they agreed pictures from the footage could be shown.

The Israel Defence Force has confirmed Mia was abducated by Hamas are are speaking to her family.

In response, the IDF tweeted: “Last week, Mia was abducted by Hamas. IDF officials have since informed Mia’s family and are in continuous contact with them.

“In the video published by Hamas, they try to portray themselves as humane. However, they are a horrorific terrorist organization responsible for the murder and abduction of babies, children, men, women and the elderly.

“At this time, we are deploying all intelligence and operational measures for the return of all hostages—including Mia.”

Just days before the hostage video was released, Mia’s mother Karen Shem spoke to Israeli news outlet, Ynet about her fears.

“My daughter went to the party and never came back from it,” Karen told the publication.

“The only thing I know for sure is that at 07:17 last week she sent a message to one of the people responsible for the party that they were being shot at, and that they would come to save them.

“I hold on to hope and I try to think positively. I know my daughter is a warrior in her soul, but unfortunately so many days have passed. It’s hard.”

It comes after Hamas released a disturbing image showing them looking dazed on a mattress in captivity in Gaza.

Maayan Fin’s daughters were brutally snatched last week along with their father when armed Hamas terrorists stormed into Israel killing hundreds of civilians.

She had not heard any news of their fate until a sinister image shared online showed her daughter Dafna sitting on a mattress, wearing pyjamas and looking tearful holding a hand to her face. Arabic text on the image says: “Wearing prayer clothes is better.”

Maayan’s ex-husband Noam can be seen bleeding heavily from a leg wound – blood is smeared across the floor. Dikla’s son Tomar looks shocked.
